The power is off from about 9 to 3. We handle the permit, the inspection and RG&E, and every circuit is labeled when we leave.

Why people upgrade

Houses built before about 1970 usually have 60 or 100 amps. That was plenty for lights and a refrigerator; it isn’t enough for central air, a heat pump, an induction range and an EV charger at once.

Some insurers won’t renew a policy on a house with a fuse box, a Federal Pacific Stab-Lok panel or a Zinsco panel, and a buyer’s inspector will flag all three. Text us a photo of yours with the door open, and we’ll reply with a rough price.

In the price

  • 200-amp panel and main breaker
  • New meter socket and service cable where needed
  • Permit and third-party inspection
  • RG&E disconnect and reconnect arranged
  • Every circuit labeled

Questions

Does someone need to be there?

Someone has to let us in at 8 and be there when we finish. You don’t need to stay in between.

What about the fridge and freezer?

Keep the doors shut and they’ll hold for the six hours or so the power is off.

Can I add an EV charger at the same time?

Yes, on the same permit. Most people upgrading for a charger have both done the same day.

Text a photo of it to (585) 555-0147 and we’ll send a rough price, usually the same day.
